The SIM based content portal, pilar of mobile VAS revenues in Latin America : status and future
The presentation would be focused on explaining, through concrete examples, how the SIM Portal (Dynamic SIM Tool Kit) has helped and is helping Operators increasing data ARPU. As many alternatives arise in the market, the SIM can help by implementing a portal providing users with a single and clean experience. Contrary to what some may think, the SIM portal can improve the usage of both mass usage channels like SMS and high-end channels like GPRS. This can be achieved by implementing some best practices that will be discussed during the presentation and which has been collected by Gemalto along its broad experience in the Latin American mobile market. Broadly speaking, Operators which have adhered to such best practices have got concrete improvement in their global indicators, such as ARPU, churn and MOU. The presentation will also show the evolution of the technology with the developement of 3G and multimedia content and possible new use case of content distribution linked to it.

Changes in the Programme

IBC's commitment is to provide delegates with the opportunity to discuss issues, topics and cases of interest presented by experienced speakers. It may be necessary for reasons beyond the control of the organisers to alter the content and the timing of the programme or the identity of the speakers. Should a speaker be unable to make a scheduled presentation, IBC will do everything in its power to replace the absent speaker by another one who is able to address the same topic. This effort, however, is not a guarantee that there will be a substitute speaker.
